Heavy: An American Memoir

I take part in the Goodreads Reading Challenge every year and I’ve started 2019 off nicely with my first completed book of the year. I will share more of my reviews here in the following months. I would also like to know what you all are reading as well. Let’s talk books!

Did you read Heavy? What did you think?

Heavy: An American Memoir by Kiese Laymon

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This unflinching account of an African American male life was like listening to the purest kind of poetry. The kind that tells the truth. Kiese cuts through the BS of everything with his candid way of writing and I appreciate it very much. Now looking to read his other work. View all my reviews

Have you read 12 Hours of Daylight, my first novella? Purchase it here at these fine retailers.
