NaPoWriMo 2012 – 30 Poems in 30 Days – Day 20!
I’m super proud that I followed the poetry prompts four days this week! Today though I’m back to freelancing as this poem has been dancing around in my head for awhile. Thanks for staying engaged! I appreciate your eyes and your comments during this poetry challenge! Enjoy your coming weekend!
Sequestered Love
crushed ice
half-empty rum bottle
falling temps
roaring fire
the scent of lavender
mixed with musk
a cabin
secluded
modernized
covered in frost
insulated with heat
neglected bodies
tortured souls
many meetings here
away from the world
high powered lovers
living low
underneath the radar
heavy footsteps
pick up pace
making a crunching sound
in the hard packed snow
inhabitants inside
so far away
inside of love
no boundaries
passion makes them deaf
pounding on doors
drowned out by a squeaky bed
shrill screams and gruff moans
the apex is in sight
longing for an ending
so they can begin again
just as the fever hits
the door bursts open
the spell is broken
the scandalous secret is out
oh no!
really?
aren’t you guys tired of each other yet?
ewww! gross!
hey!
didn’t we teach you how to knock?
how did we get blessed with such nosy children?
nervous laughter ensues
silk sheets cover exposed limbs
role play night is over
the parenthood has begun

Lovely start and a surprising finish. I was afraid it would be some gangsters coming to get them ๐

My dear friend…steamy passion indeed!! The ending was quite surprising I must say but very funny. Great imagination!!
Oh, yes, getting that private time can be a struggle when you are a parent. So deftly described right down to the embarrassment. ๐
Keep going, Tameka!
Blessings!
Tee-hee! Thanks Sulekha. I was feeling naughty today. ๐
Thanks Andy! I was hoping people smiled at the end. ๐
Thanks Martha. Glad you could relate. I don’t have children, but I can imagine being interrupted by your kids would be very embarrassing. ๐
Agree with Sulekha, I like the thrill of it- Passion, suspense and the end.
Damn! This s creativity, superb!
