NaPoWriMo 2012 – 30 Poems in 30 Days – Day 18
Count down! Count down! Twelve more days to go! Well, in this poetry challenge at least. I pray that I always have enough poetry to fill each day for the rest of my life. I’m following the prompt again today and guess what? Lullabies are on the menu! To be exact, we are to construct a special lullaby for poets. Here is my offering:
Lyrical Lullaby
Sleep well my brain cells
Go ahead and snooze
Jump over a sheep
And a cloud or two
Travel to the Mojave Desert
Swim the Caspian Sea
Juggle happily like a circus clown
Just remember to come back to me
But before you do
Wind surf and sail
Build colorful memories
That make great tales
Then wake me gently
Revive me slow
I’ll work you hard, but with purpose
So you can then go dream some more

Lovely lullaby, poets do dream about a lot of things, sometimes while sleeping and mostly while awake:)
zzzzzzzzzz….wow! you put my brain cells to sleep too.
I love this Sulekha: “poets do dream about a lot of things, sometimes while sleeping and mostly while awake” – So true girl friend, so true. 🙂
LOL! Awww, you’re probably tired from all of your creating this month. Go ahead and take a nap. You deserve the rest Janaki! 🙂
“Jump over a sheep and a cloud or two . . .” Love this image! Great job once again!
Blessings!
I really think our soul takes a hike when we sleep, visiting exotic places and rejuvenating themselves for another long day. Beautifully written as always Tameka
Dear Tameka,
Earlier this morning while I was responding to comments, my mind was already working thinking what to write for letter “Q”. Sometimes, I can just jump up in the middle of the night with some thought that occurred to me while sleeping…good for me…not so for my wife! LOL
Loved this again. Nice image too. Thanks for sharing.

LOL! I can imagine Andy. I know the feeling. My sleep is interrupted often by words that want and need my attention. Hugs!
Thanks Sweepy! It is nice to think of our brain cells jetting about. 🙂
