NaPoWriMo 2012 – 30 Poems in 30 Days – Day 12
Sound The Alarm
The page is blank
My mind is a blur
Where oh where is thou poetry?
Has anyone seen her?
The words are hiding
Rhythmic passages are subsiding
My brain is on empty
Can anybody save me?
I’m being challenged
Rocked to the core
I’m losing my lines
I can’t write anymore
My pen has fizzled
My swag is gone
Time to sing another
Really bad swan song
The sound of a roar
Just snapped me awake
It’s my alarm clock & it’s after eight
I shake my head
I’m remembering a dream
My notepad is filled
With delightful things
I go to the mirror to comb my hair
Seems I was just having a dreadful nightmare
My pen is intact
My computer is juiced
It’s about that time
To let loose the muse
My poetic vibe
Is definitely here to stay
God Bless the Child!
What a wonderful day!

Happy for you, your poetic vibe is here to stay :)I have to struggle everyday 🙁
Indeed a wonderful day…and you are doing quite well with the challenges.
Hi Sulekha. It was a struggle today girl. I was trying to come up with something deep, but it wasn’t working so I kept it light. I don’t believe you struggle at all. Your poems are light nightfall. They cover us all. 😉
Janaki, some days are easier than others, and today was indeed a challenge! LOL! You are writing wonderful poetry. I am enjoying your voice this month as well. Cheers. 🙂
Humorous and beautifully done! Such a happy ending to writer’s block. 🙂
Blessings!
Thanks Martha! It sure is! 🙂
Hello Tameka.
Love the fun element in this. I’ve seen a few people drop out of both A-Z & NaPoWriMo. Sometimes it can get tough, but I’m thankful my thoughts haven’t dried up yet…if anything, they are flowing much more than normal. It helps having the support of wonderful friends like you.

Ha! Ha! That was almost me today Andy! But just as soon as I was about to throw in the pen, this wonderful little ditty up and kicked in! Yes, we have to keep supporting one another. I vowed to finish this year and I will. Thanks dear. 🙂
Girl, I can relate! Every single day I feel like I’m not going to be able to come up with something. I start out by writing a whole bunch of nonsense before I end up with slightly less nonsense! ;p This was a lot of fun and inspirational!
Ha! I knew I wasn’t alone! But we are still hanging in there and creating some beautiful work. I am proud of all of us! Thanks Sweepy! 🙂
I don’t think you lost your mojo at all. Loved this poem. 🙂
The words you have written are so alive and delightful! If only we could always write like that when we fear we have nothing to write about anymore 😉
Thanks Rachel and Joyce! I was running on fumes. I appreciate you guys. 🙂
This was great! I could so relate to this! Every time I sit down to write I wonder if I’ll ever feel that inspired again. It seems like ideas rise spontaneously and not willfully.
I can’t even imagine beginning to try to accomplish this feat! You are doing a great job and are half way through it. Don’t give up! Your poem today brought a smile to my face ☺
Good morning Mary and Jessica! I’m sticking with it. This could not be a more true statement: “It seems like ideas rise spontaneously and not willfully.” Sometimes we have to get out of our own way. Bless you ladies. 🙂
