NaPoWriMo #9 – National Poetry Writing Month
I’m using the NaPoWriMo prompt this time, which calls for writing a poem backwards. I used a well-known catch phrase (I switched it up a little) as the last line and wrote my way to the top. It’s short and bittersweet!
Forlorn
our love made me feel like i was high
now i stay awake and watch the sky
i wonder when what we had began to die
i believed your truths
but they were lies
it seems i have some faerie dust in my eye
big girls don’t weep, but they sure do cry
