NaPoWriMo #10 – National Poetry Writing Month
Back Streets
jealousy rages
fuel burns hot
fingers trip over worn numeric touch pads
voice mail
no answer
bed not slept in
my overnight
was your daytime
to do what you wished
beep beep beep
sanitation truck blocks much progress
trashed
is how i feel
ironic
cherry cola covered steel house on wheels
where can you be?
i’m following oil slicked streets
on your trail honey
grand prix racers have nothing on me
rounding corners
chasing curbs
scaling concrete
but who am i in pursuit of?
you were gone a long time ago
slowing down
parking
exhaling
music volume escalating
neighbors alert to new chick on the block
curtains move slightly
gas pedals stick
i race toward home
white flag up
