The Life-Box Collection (A Poetic Short-Stack Trio Set) Vol I.

In life we’re driven by desire, loss and the need to be long-lasting. The following pieces pay homage to these factors.

IMPRINT (desire)

waking up to whispers

as dreams fade to remnants of memories

melodies follow me

traces of a song

flashes of pillow

between my teeth

like a sandwich

then

daily grind

scientific reports and strategies

brain is wired

overloaded

close to crashing

like waves

coursing through the mainframe

of my middle

LAMENTATIONS (loss)

walking barefoot backwards

saline puddles

in my wake

driving on the wrong side of the road

red lights trigger

a heart

broken down

by time

I’m lost

the side of the road

is a respite

colored vehicles pass

captured in black and white

then transformed into

blue

RELEVANCY (longevity)

a meat -filled diet

now morphed into seeds

hemp covered thighs

and feet

a life’s footprint

extended out

hair follicles

once coiffed to death

now wild

free

sunshine pours in brighter

eyes begin to see

the end

fight

scrap

tear the ties loose

hold on

don’t

let

go
