Cookie’s Chronicles – A Poem Inspired by the TV Show Empire

If you be my Lucious, I will be your Cookie

Awww sookie, sookie!

Now

Listen to this

You can keep your money

Because our love is like an empire

Wait a minute

Here comes that liar

Boo Boo Kitty is in the mix

Cooking up schemes and butterscotch tricks

Looking like Halle Berry

But her soul is kind of scary

Can’t trust it

How can I breathe?

No air

Three kids

But I wasn’t there

I was locked up

Now I’m out & ya’ll got me f’d up

Drama over here

Hakeem way over there

My baby don’t love me

He’s getting his mothering elsewhere

Yoko Ono

Is his new bae

And as long as I have breath in my body,

there will be hell to pay

I didn’t raise no fools

But they sho aint acting smart

One is off his meds and jeopardizing this art

I can’t lose it all now

I paid too high a cost

I’m counting on you ‘Mal

Sing your heart out baby boy and be a boss!
