My Blog Lyric Fire: National Poetry Month-NaPoWriMo #19-Inside My Smile

NaPoWriMo – National Poetry Writing Month

Inside My Smile:

inside my smile there is a snicker

a cold knowing

no whimsy

no wonder

inside my smile there is a hunger

blood thirsty

ravenous for revenge

my breathing is labored

i’m coming unhinged

niceness is for church girls

and i haven’t been in years

though scripture is beautiful poetry

it can’t shield you from transported fears

fright has grown into might

i’m pushing my will into your way

don’t even try to fight back

just sit there

stay

read these rhymes as i instruct

search for clues of self destruct

decipher and examine my words for code

can you save me before i jump?
