reaching down between the seats

retrieving – retrieving

folded napkin

pull off to the side of the road

unfold

words zig-zagged in black ink

lyrical gold

jackpot

fate sealed

location revealed

u-turn

flashing lights

new destination

in sight

speaker phone

call made

flight plans

delayed

pressing business here at home

heart once soft

is now stone

car speeds into the shadows of yesterday
